About the Practice
Angela Bisignano, PhD is a clinical and concierge psychologist in private practice. She has two office locations in Palos Verdes Estates and Manhattan Beach, California. Her clientele comes from Palos Verdes Peninsula, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, Santa Monica, Malibu and now all parts of California. Dr. Bisignano provides therapy both in-person and via telehealth, or virtual visits.
Dr. Bisignano uses a comprehensive approach in her practice, assessment and treatment, drawing on the fields of psychology, interpersonal neurobiology, attachment theory, and spirituality. She believes the mind, body and spirit are interconnected; when we are out of balance in one area it potentially affects all the other areas. Her aim in her work is to promote health, healing, and optimal wellbeing in her clients.
Our mental health and wellbeing are vital to a fulfilling and meaningful life. When our mental health is compromised, stressed or we are suffering, almost every other area of our wellbeing is affected, including our physical bodies, relationships and spiritual nature. Dr. Bisignano believes anyone can live a meaningful and fulfilling life if they choose to. Sometimes it involves a compassionate person coming alongside to help guide you in the process.
The Science of Psychology
According to the American Psychological Association the science of psychology is the study of the mind and human behavior. Psychologists focus on the relationships between the mind, brain and its functions. Our brain is so vital and precious to our existence that without it no other system in the body can survive. Our brains are continuously making new connections and being rewired with neural circuitry. When we change our thought processes, behavior and feelings we are actually altering the neural chemistry in our brains. In so doing, we are changing the course of our lives and the way we love.
Approach to Treatment
Dr. Bisignano’s approach in her practice and treatment integrates the best evidence-based research, clinical experience and knowledge with the client’s personality, value system, and issues presented. Dr. Bisignano takes a collaborative approach with her clients, understanding that each person’s life story, experience and emotional landscape is unique. Dr. Bisignano believes optimal mental health and wellbeing is achieved in a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment.
